Brittany Ferries launches service with Poole for accompanied lorries
On 19 March, Brittany Ferries launched a weekly service between the British port of Poole and Bilbao. The new line is for goods with accompanied lorries, although non-accompanied trailers / freight is also transported. The 165-metre long Cotentin operates the service, which sails from Poole on Tuesdays and from Bilbao on Wednesdays.
MacAndrews to launch refrigerated train between Murcia and Bilbao
In April, MacAndrews, a company belonging to the CMA-CGM shipping group, is reinforcing its present European 45-foot container refrigerated multimodal service by setting up a refrigerated train service that will link Murcia with Bilbao.
Traffic in Port of Bilbao up by 10% until February
Traffic in the Port of Bilbao is starting to show signs of recovery after the negative close to 2012. In the first two months of this year, goods traffic has increased by 10% with regard to the same period in the previous year, and stands at 4.8 million tonnes.
