GoodD Environmental Practices Agreements
The Port Authorities possess a tool to help involve all the Port Community in the reduction/minimisation of the environmental impact of their activities, which are the Good Environmental Practices Agreements.
With a view to encouraging better environmental practices, Law 33/2010 plans to apply reductions in activities costs when operators, following what the above-mentioned law sets out, complies with the requisites of having signed an Agreement with the Port Authority with regard to good environmental practices and having an Environmental Management System (ISO 14001 or EMAS).
Good Environmental Practices Agreements are documents signed by the operator and the Port Authority, which sets out the conditions the operator must fulfil to be granted the reduction. These conditions will be based on the good practices guides approved by Spanish State Ports.
