The Port of Bilbao Border Inspection Post inspected 7,400 food containers in 2011, of which 55% were of animal origin and 45% vegetable.

The Bilbao Port Authority has awarded the contract, worth 5.8 million euros, for the paving of Docks AZ-2 and AZ-3 which are built into the Zierbena Breakwater.

Construcciones Navales, Celulosas y Siderúrgicas, S.A. (Navacel) has begun loading operations of eight large suction anchors for transport from the Port of Bilbao to an off-shore gas platform that is being built off the coast of Israel.

From Stand G742 at the International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition (SIL) to be held at Barcelona from 5 to 7 June, the Bilbao Port Authority will inform of its infrastructures and services the Port offers shippers.
