On Sunday June 17, at 11.00 hours, the cruise vessel, Ocean Dream, better known as the Peace Boat, will berth at the Port of Bilbao facilities at Getxo, and will sail at 17.00 hours on the following day. It will be the first time this cruise vessel calls at the Basque Country, although not the first time that Peace Boat, a Tokyo-based international non-governmental and non-profit organization has organised a visit to the Port of Bilbao: previously in 2007, the organisation visited the Port with the Topaz.
The Ocean Dream belongs to the Japan Grace Shipping Company, and is 205 metres long with capacity for 1,422 passengers. It will arrive from Lisbon and then sail for the French port of Le Havre.
It will be the organisation’s 76th voyage. The vessel departed from Yokohama on 8 May and will return to the same city on 17 August after
sailing around world and visiting ports in China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Venezuela, Panama, Guatemala and Mexico.
