The cruise vessel will make seven overnight calls this season.
Bilbao, 14 September 2012. The cruise vessel Celebrity Constellation, belonging to the Royal Caribbean Group, and represented by Incarteiz Agents, has made the first of its scheduled seven calls at the Port of Bilbao Getxo facilities this
season. Thus, the vessel, which offers thematic wine routes, will berth overnight in the Port on each of its calls.
With this in mind, the Getxo Town Council, together with the Port Authority of Bilbao, organised a welcome reception for both passengers and crew before the Biscay Transporter Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Together with Mr Imanol Landa, the Getxo Mayor and Mr José Ramón de la Fuente, the Port Authority Chairman among other dignitaries, the guests were able to enjoy Txakoli wine and typical local Basque pintxos. In addition, at nightfall, the Las Arenas promenade, located opposite the cruise terminal, was lit up with a special-effect “Welcome to Getxo” message in Morse Code.
The Celebrity Constellation is 294 metres long and berthed at the Port of Bilbao with 2,019 passengers on board.
