High-capacity Border Control Post
The Port of Bilbao Border Control Post is cutting-edge amongst ports in Spain and has recently taken on five new employees.
This is an EU-authorised facility for Border Inspection Services to carry out all necessary sanitary, phytosanitary, veterinary and quality inspections, to ensure that products from third countries (such as the United Kingdom), both for human and non-human consumption, enter the EU market with the attendant guarantees.
The Port of Bilbao Border Inspection Post is a high-capacity facility with 16 lorry loading and unloading bays, and is operational 24 hours a day. The port provides the following services: a Border Inspection Post (BIP), an unloading port,
Designated Points of Entry (DPE), DPE/DPI (Designated Points of Import, points for the control of food products from certain third countries), radioactivity monitoring, Authorised Customs Areas (ACA) and FPI (First Points of Introduction).
