(Navacel) has begun loading operations of eight large suction anchors for transport from the Port of Bilbao to an off-shore gas platform that is being built off the coast of Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Six of the anchors are 9.5 metres in diameter and 20 metres long and the other two are 14 metres long. The anchors will be loaded in a\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6009\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6009\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Pieza.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6009 \" title=\"Project cargo at the NAVACEL plant\" alt=\"Project cargo at the NAVACEL plant\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Pieza-305x203.jpg\" width=\"305\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6009\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Project cargo at the<br \/>NAVACEL plant<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<p>special barge alongside the quay that the company owns\u00a0on the Bilbao river estuary in Axpe (Erandio). Given the complexity of moving such large loads, the operation in which 20 people are working is expected to last approximately 10 days. The barge will be towed by a sea-going tug and will take 28 days to reach its destination.<\/p>\n<p>For the manufacture of the suction anchors and other similar pieces, the payroll of Construcciones Navales, Celulosas y Sider\u00fargicas, S.A. has, over the last 5 months, increased by 16% and subcontractors have occupied an average of 40 people.
