The \u201cFinnsky\u201d, like its sister ships \u201cFinnbreeze\u201d, \u201cFinnsea\u201d and \u201cFinnsun\u201d, which also ply the route, is 188 metres in length and can transport close to 200 platforms, 600 vehicles, 470 TEU and 75 reefers.<\/p>\n<p>These ships are the first units of next-generation vessels with enhanced loading capacity and which are more environmentally sustainable.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5852\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5852\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Noticia-20120322.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5852  \" title=\"Finnlines\u00b4 terminal at the Port of Bilbao\" alt=\"Finnlines\u00b4 terminal at the Port of Bilbao\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Noticia-20120322-305x169.jpg\" width=\"305\" height=\"169\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5852\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Finnlines\u00b4 terminal at<br \/>the Port of Bilbao<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<p>Finnlines\u2019 decision to include the new ships on this service is due to the important rise in traffic with Bilbao, particularly with the cargo of Swedish\/Finnish enterprise Stora Enso, one of the world\u2019s biggest paper producers. The shipping company has also strengthened exports from the automotive firm Renault between Bilbao and Antwerp, and won new contracts including the shipping of Iveco trucks and the exporting of Seat vehicles to the Russian market.<\/p>\n<p>Other projects it has signed on for recently include shipping Talgo trains from Bilbao to Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n<p>The weekly North of Europe route run by Finnlines, whose representative is Consignaciones Toro y Betolaza, puts in at Bilbao, Antwerp (the hub of its parent company, Grimaldi), Helsinki (the home port of the Finnish shipping company), St Petersburg (Russia), Kotka, Lubeck (Germany) and Zeebrugge (Belgium).
