This certification is a further step in its occupational health and safety policy and puts the entity at the head of other ports in the General Interest port system in this field, as it is the only port authority in Spain to possess the certificate. It also makes it a reference point within Biscay companies, being a pioneer in achieving the credential.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, as part of the OHS prevention campaigns it has been carrying out with employees and following a thorough analysis of the facilities, accessibility to resources and employee flows, the Bilbao Port Authority, which has 300 people on staff, has installed seven semiautomatic defibrillators in its centres and administrative offices in Santurtzi, Bilbao, Getxo and Zierbena, ensuring they are all part of the \u201ccardioprotected area\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative also benefits many other port employees and businesses because, if needed, the defibrillators can attend to the majority of <\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5813\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5813\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Noticia-20120314.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-5813  \" title=\"Bilbao Port health care personnel\" alt=\"Bilbao Port health care personnel\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Noticia-20120314.jpg\" width=\"305\" height=\"346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Noticia-20120314.jpg 305w, https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Noticia-20120314-132x150.jpg 132w, https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Noticia-20120314-250x284.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 305px) 100vw, 305px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5813\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bilbao Port health care personnel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>the employees of other companies that work in the port on a daily basis.
