Additionally, at 12:00 on 27 May, the Port is set to take part in a conference session featuring Andima Ormaetxe, Director of Operations, Sales and Logistics at the Port of Bilbao, on the topic of \u201cCarbon footprint reduction across the value chain: strategies for a low-impact future\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>At a time when the food industry is facing the challenge of reducing its environmental impact without compromising efficiency or resilience, the Port Authority will explain how the Port is taking forward specific solutions to support this transition, such as promoting intermodality to reduce emissions and optimise logistics connectivity; the dock electrification project (OPS), which will enable progress towards port operations with a lower environmental impact; and digital tools such as BioRoute, designed to analyse and select more efficient logistics chains, providing objective information on their environmental impact and potential for improvement.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Expo-FoodTech-2026.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
