This decision has been taken in line with the company&#8217;s plan for growth and phased expansion, and to contribute to the consolidation of the Port of Bilbao as a reference in the wind energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>With this expansion, Haizea Wind, a manufacturer of offshore towers and foundations which has invested in excess of 300 million euros in its dockside facilities, will have a total concession area of around 340,000 m\u00b2 in Bilbao. The new concession area is partially linked to that of previous concessions of the companies <em>Servicios Log\u00edsticos Portuarios<\/em> (SLP) and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy E\u00f3lica, which have relocated their activities to Dock AZ-0 and the Central Breakwater, respectively. This is part of a reorganisation of the spaces available in the Port of Bilbao with a view to improving the operations of the businesses operating there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bilbao, wind power hub<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Haizea Wind began operating in the port in 2018. Together with companies such as Euskalforging, Forjas de Iraeta, Laulagun, Navacel, Nordex Acciona, Sakana, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Vicinay Cadenas, Haizea Wind works in partnership with the Port of Bilbao for their internationalisation. Some of these companies have production plants in the port itself, which benefit from the advantages of having dockside facilities.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20250611-Haizea-Wind.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"thickbox alignnone wp-image-52708 size-full\" title=\"thickbox\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/20250611-Haizea-Wind.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The hinterland of the Port of Bilbao is characterised by the presence of numerous companies related to the wind energy sector, including producers and service providers across its entire value chain. In this respect, wind turbine rotors, nacelles and associated electrical equipment are particularly prevalent.
