The drill, timed to coincide with World Environment Day and successfully conducted in the Outer Abra, was coordinated by the Port Authority, and also involved mooring companies, tugboats and the Ertzaintza (Basque police force).<\/p>\n<p>The drill involved enacting the protocols set out in the Inland Maritime Plan for pollution. All the relevant teams and equipment were deployed, making Bilbao one of the European ports with the most resources for controlling emergencies.
