The inaugural operation consisted of a convoy with 708 tonnes of wheat bound for Aragon.<\/p>\n<p>The train departed in the early hours of Wednesday 27 November with 14 wagons belonging to Renfe, which also provided the traction unit. With this operation, SLP and the Port have reached a new milestone in their commitment to full intermodality, and can now offer a complete range of rail services which, until now, was limited to containers, breakbulk and bulk liquids.<\/p>\n<p>The destination of the convoy is the La Armentera industrial estate in Huesca, which is home to the Monz\u00f3n Intermodal Terminal, located on the main rail freight corridor and one of the main hinterlands of the ports of the Atlantic and Mediterranean Arc. From there, the cargo will be shipped to Harineras Villamayor, the end recipient of the goods.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative consolidates SLP&#8217;s position as a key reference in the Port of Bilbao.
