{"id":51267,"date":"2024-10-30T07:59:47","date_gmt":"2024-10-30T06:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/?p=51267"},"modified":"2024-10-31T08:17:32","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T07:17:32","slug":"intermodality-the-atlantic-axis-and-the-jundiz-intermodal-terminal-key-issues-at-transmodal-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/news\/intermodality-the-atlantic-axis-and-the-jundiz-intermodal-terminal-key-issues-at-transmodal-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Intermodality, the Atlantic Axis and the J\u00fandiz intermodal terminal, key issues at Transmodal 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"show-for-small mobile-breadcrumbs\"><ul class=\"breadcrumbs\"><li class=\"home\"><span property=\"itemListElement\" typeof=\"ListItem\"><a property=\"item\" typeof=\"WebPage\" title=\"Go to Port of Bilbao.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/\" class=\"home\" aria-current=\"page\"><span property=\"name\">Port of Bilbao<\/span><\/a><meta property=\"position\" content=\"1\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div><div class=\"one_half bbcol\">\n<p><strong>Transmodal 2024, <\/strong>the largest event in the Basque Country on Intermodality and Logistics, will once again bring together industrial, exporting, transport and distribution companies and logistics operators in the auditorium of the Alava Chamber of Commerce, to discuss the development of intermodality, the importance of the Atlantic Axis for trade and the operability provided by the J\u00fandiz Intermodal Terminal.<\/p>\n<p>Co-organised by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.camaradealava.com\/\"><strong>Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Alava<\/strong><\/a> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/\">Port Authority of Bilbao<\/a><\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.howdengroup.com\/uk-en\">Howden<\/a><\/strong>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euskadi.eus\/inicio\/\"><strong>Basque Government<\/strong><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.araba.eus\/es\/\"><strong>Provincial Council of Alava<\/strong><\/a>, the aim of the XVI Intermodal Logistics Forum is to improve the competitiveness of the sector through the exchange of knowledge and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>The opening of the forum will feature <strong>Gregorio Rojo<\/strong>, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of \u00c1lava; <strong>Ricardo Barkala<\/strong>, President of the Port Authority of Bilbao; <strong>Ramiro Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>, Head of the Provincial Council of \u00c1lava; and <strong>Imanol Pradales<\/strong>, <em>Lehendakari<\/em> (First Minister) of the Basque Government. This will be followed by a talk on \u2018The Atlantic Corridor: importance and key infrastructure\u2019, to be given by <strong>Jos\u00e9 Antonio Sebasti\u00e1n Ruiz<\/strong>, Commissioner for the Atlantic Corridor, after which <strong>Andima Ormaetxe<\/strong>, Director of Operations, Commerce, Logistics and Strategy at the Port Authority of Bilbao, and <strong>Xabier Guti\u00e9rrez<\/strong>, SSL Intra North Europe Branch Sales Manager Bilbao at CMA CGM, will present the intermodal strategy of the Port of Bilbao and its contribution to the development of more sustainable transport in the Atlantic Corridor.<\/p>\n<p>The event will then continue with a panel discussion featuring experts from different sectors operating in the Atlantic Axis area.
