Eligible beneficiaries of these grants are shippers, carriers and transport operators, whether companies or self-employed individuals, choosing to load their semi-trailers, trailers or rigid heavy goods vehicles on a ro-ro, con-ro or ro-pax vessel between a Spanish and an EU port between 8 May 2024 and 31 March 2025.<\/p>\n<p>This latest call, based, as on previous occasions, on proven environmental and socio-economic merit measured as a reduction in external costs by using maritime transport instead of road-only transport, has selected as eligible services two lines operating in the port of Bilbao. The first of these shipping companies, Finnlines, represented by <em>Consignaciones Toro y Betolaza<\/em>, runs a twice-weekly service between Bilbao and Zeebr\u00fbgge (Belgium) using new Grimaldi Group eco-series vessels with a large cargo capacity (5,800 linear metres each, equivalent to around 400 trailers) for any type of goods, and equipped with innovative energy-saving technology.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_49589\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49589\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Finnlines_brittany.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-49589 size-full\" title=\"Ships of Finnlines and Brittany Ferries berthed at Port of Bilbao docks\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Finnlines_brittany.jpg\" alt=\"Ships of Finnlines and Brittany Ferries berthed at Port of Bilbao docks\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Finnlines_brittany.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Finnlines_brittany-535x357.jpg 535w, https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Finnlines_brittany-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-49589\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ships of Finnlines and Brittany Ferries berthed at Port of Bilbao docks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Other potential eco-incentive beneficiaries are those companies using the route between Bilbao and the Irish port of Rosslare.
