The event will bring together leading representatives of the sector to analyse the current situation of intermodal freight traffic, and to assess the next steps to be taken to improve the network of rail-port corridors in Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, Mr. Ormaetxe will take part, within the block dedicated to ports and rail freight corridors, in the round table entitled \u201cRail-port services with the Iberian Central Hub\u201d, which will also feature Jordi Torrent, Head of Strategy of the Port of Barcelona; Jaime Beltr\u00e1n, Head of the Business and Commercial Development Area of the Port of Huelva; Joan Borr\u00e0s, Head of Port Planning Area of the Port of Tarragona; and Mar Chao, President of the Port of Valencia.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, organised by <em>El Canal Mar\u00edtimo y Log\u00edstico<\/em> and the Official Association of Industrial Engineers of Madrid, experts and professionals in logistics, freight transport, the railway sector and the port sector will also discuss topics such as the situation of logistics and intermodal platforms in the centre of the peninsula and the current development of freight railway corridors and the Central Iberian Corridor.<\/p>\n<h6>Bilbao, an intermodal port<\/h6>\n<p>The Port of Bilbao is strategically located on the Atlantic Arc and has rail connections with Abro\u00f1igal, Agoncillo, Arasur, Azuqueca, Barcelona, Coslada, Jundiz, La Rioja, No\u00e1in, Nonduermas, Pancorbo, Seville, Silla, Valencia, Vic\u00e1lvaro, Villafr\u00eda and Zaragoza, as well as a wide network of dry ports, making it a strategic ally for companies wishing to<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_49005\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49005\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ferroconten.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-49005 size-full\" title=\"Containers leaving the port by rail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ferroconten.jpg\" alt=\"Containers leaving the port by rail\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ferroconten.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ferroconten-535x357.jpg 535w, https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ferroconten-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-49005\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Containers leaving the port by rail<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>import\/export their goods between the Iberian Peninsula and, especially, Northern Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
