To do so, they will need to combine science, technology, a lot of fun and teamwork.<\/p>\r\n<p>In collaboration with <strong>Innobasque<\/strong>, the Basque Innovation Agency, <strong>Bilbao PortLab<\/strong> will hold an online training session on 25 January in which students from five schools in the Basque Country will take part. The session is designed to inspire the teams to work on innovative and quality projects in the field of transport and logistics, as well as to bring schoolchildren closer to the work of the people in the port of Bilbao working in the field of research, science and technology. In doing so, the idea is to show children and young people the careers they could opt for if they decide to pursue technical studies.<\/p>\r\n<h6><strong>About the First Lego League Euskadi 2021-22<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<p>Organised by the Basque Innovation Agency (<strong>Innobasque<\/strong>), the <strong>University of Deusto<\/strong>, <strong><em>Fomento de San Sebasti\u00e1n<\/em><\/strong> and the <strong>University of Mondrag\u00f3n<\/strong>, the aim of the 13th <strong>First Lego League Euskadi<\/strong> is to arouse the interest of schoolchildren in scientific and technological studies, bringing them closer to science, problem solving and innovation. Furthermore, the initiative is supported by the <strong>Department of Education of the Basque Government<\/strong>, the <strong>Provincial Council of \u00c1lava<\/strong>, the <strong>Provincial Council of Bizkaia<\/strong> and the <strong>Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa<\/strong>, with the collaboration of 13 organisations (including <strong>Bilbao PortLab<\/strong>), companies, technology centres and Basque universities that will offer training workshops to schools.<\/p>\r\n<p>In this thirteenth edition of the First Lego League Euskadi, the final of which will be held on Saturday 5 March, 43 Basque schools will take part, grouped into 115 teams made up of schoolchildren aged between 6 and 16.<\/p>\r\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\r\n<figure id=\"attachment_43019\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-43019\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/9048-2-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-43019 size-large\" title=\"Operations with containers in the Port of Bilbao\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/9048-2-1200x797.jpg\" alt=\"Operations with containers in the Port of Bilbao\" width=\"1200\" height=\"797\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-43019\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Operations with containers in the Port of Bilbao<\/figcaption><\/figure>\r\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h6><strong>About Bilbao PortLab<\/strong><\/h6>\r\n<p>Promoted by the <strong>Port Authority of Bilbao<\/strong> and part of the <strong>Bilbao Port and River Foundation<\/strong>, <strong>Bilbao PortLab<\/strong> is an innovation and research hub whose mission is to create an innovation ecosystem in the port of Bilbao. To do so, Bilbao PortLab works with port companies on innovation projects that can be developed internally, and also attracts innovation projects from outside the port community. Interested companies are invited to participate and take advantage of the funding opportunities for their innovation plans currently under submission or which may be presented in the future.<\/p>\r\n<p>Bilbao PortLab, with information on some 200 innovative companies already stored in its database, has supported and enabled over 14 projects to test their technologies in the port of Bilbao through funds provided through Ports 4.0., Hazitek and other grants.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Bilbao PortLab advisory committee is made up of representatives from the Port Authority of Bilbao, the State Ports Authority, SPRI, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, BEAZ, Seed Capital Bizkaia, UniportBilbao, the Basque Maritime Forum, the Mobility and Logistics Cluster, Tecnalia, Innobasque, Orkestra and three universities: University of the Basque Country &#8211; <em>Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea<\/em> (UPV-EHU), the University of Deusto and the University of Mondrag\u00f3n.<\/p>\r\n<p><\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/p>\r\n <div class=\"hide-for-small page-options-container hide-for-print\"> <hr class=\"page-options\"\/> <ul class=\"inline right page-options\"><li><a class=\"bmprint\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"Print this article\"><i class=\"icon-print\"><\/i><\/a><\/li><li><a class=\"bmsend2friend\" href=\"mailto:?subject=Article of interest: The Port of Bilbao takes part once again in the First Lego League Euskadi -
