Likewise, the Port of Bilbao is a pioneer in environmental management and is promoting different initiatives aligned to the key areas selected by the port system to contribute to Agenda 2030.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/corporate-social-responsibility-csr\/green-commitment\/enviromental-declaration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Further information<\/a><\/p>\n<h6><strong>First port to obtain EPD certification<\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>In 2019, Bilbao became the first port in the world to obtain an <strong>Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification<\/strong>, based on the life cycle assessment of port services. Around fifty companies from the community of the port of Bilbao &#8211; of all kinds and different types of traffic and\/or services &#8211; have collaborated jointly to obtain this certification, which covers the environmental impact of the port&#8217;s activities.
