The exercise to deploy the anti-pollution barriers, involving the tug Txurruka II, a mooring boat and a tug from the company Ibaizabal, was conducted in the A4 quay and designed as a test of the Internal Maritime Plan for accidental marine pollution and the coordination between the different players involved.<\/p>\n<p>The Port of Bilbao is one of the places in Europe with the most resources of its own to deal with this type of emergency. The Port Authority has four containers with different containment barriers, totalling 1,650 metres. In addition to this equipment, the barriers of industrial companies located in the Port of Bilbao, such as Petronor, Tepsa and Esergui, as well as the resources of the Ibaizabal mooring and tugboats, are also available.
