Bilbao will be presented as the best-connected Atlantic port for fruit and vegetables distribution for both the north of Europe and the Iberian Peninsula itself. In 2015, this traffic rose to 169,528 tonnes, with frozen vegetables, shipments of onions, garlic and leeks, potatoes and citrus fruits outstanding.<\/p>\n<p>Mercabilbao, the largest distribution centre for perishables in the north of the Iberian Peninsula will also be present at the Port Authority of Bilbao stand.<\/p>\n<p>Bilbao has both LO-LO services for containers as well as RO-RO for containers and general cargo vehicles. The maritime connections are complemented by smooth processing and intermodal railway services. Mention must be made of the Murcia rail service which leaves Nonduermas. Last year, the number of refrigerated containers grew 23%.<\/p>\n<p>For fruit and vegetables entering from South America and Africa, the Port of Bilbao has a Border Inspection Post.
