This is the official quality certification granted jointly by Euskalit, the official assessment agency, and the Basque Government for the promotion and use of the Basque language.<\/p>\n<p>This is a voluntary company linguistic certification and assesses four points which have to be approved: linguistic landscape, external communication, internal communication and language policy. Thus the award recognises company behaviour in the use and promotion of Basque both among employees and its visitors, customers, suppliers and other entities.<\/p>\n<p>During the award ceremony, Asier Atutxa, the Port Authority Chairman, underlined the effort made by all its employees and congratulated them \u201cbecause this certification has been obtained thanks to their implication and especially due to that of the Basque Language Committee, which has been working for years to achieve it, as well as to those who were personally assessed by the Euskalit team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_16214\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16214\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Entrega-Bikain-de-plata-21-dic-15-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-16214\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-16214 size-medium\" title=\"Delivery of the award\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Entrega-Bikain-de-plata-21-dic-15-1-305x229.jpg\" alt=\"Delivery of the award\" width=\"305\" height=\"229\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-16214\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Delivery of the award<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The use of the language involves an important number of people, since nearly 5000 work in or visit the Port of Bilbao on a regular basis.
