{"id":15951,"date":"2015-11-17T10:39:20","date_gmt":"2015-11-17T08:39:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/?p=15951"},"modified":"2016-06-13T12:15:57","modified_gmt":"2016-06-13T10:15:57","slug":"port-authority-of-bilbao-receives-further-recognition-for-promoting-health-in-the-workplace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/news\/port-authority-of-bilbao-receives-further-recognition-for-promoting-health-in-the-workplace\/","title":{"rendered":"Port Authority of Bilbao receives further recognition for promoting health in the workplace"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"show-for-small mobile-breadcrumbs\"><ul class=\"breadcrumbs\"><li class=\"home\"><span property=\"itemListElement\" typeof=\"ListItem\"><a property=\"item\" typeof=\"WebPage\" title=\"Go to Port of Bilbao.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/\" class=\"home\" aria-current=\"page\"><span property=\"name\">Port of Bilbao<\/span><\/a><meta property=\"position\" content=\"1\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div><div class=\"one_half bbcol\">\n<p>The II \u201cEmpresa Saludable\u201d (Healthy Company) Awards, the most prestigious in Spain in this afield, and organised by PSYA, ORH-Human Resources Observatory and e-saludable, have awarded the Port Authority of Bilbao with a special mention for the \u201cBest Programme for Health Control\u201d in recognition of the work carried out in its health promotion programme.<\/p>\n<p>The Port Authority of Bilbao has resolved to integrate health promotion in work accident prevention interventions through its Portu Osasuntsua (Basque for \u201cHealth in the Port\u201d) programme, which sets out the necessary conceptual framework to organise and undertake health programmes in the company, as well as participation and collaboration channels of all the important actors.<\/p>\n<p>The main objectives of the project is to achieve a healthy workplace, as the WHO establishes in the Luxembourg Declaration. The project comprises different activities and campaigns based on general health strategies and designed with a view to closing gaps found in the organisation or to improving aspects requested by employees themselves.<\/p>\n<p>The following are developed, among others:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Strategy to prevent cardiovascular disease and to promote heart-healthy habits<br \/>\n\u2022 Healthy eating programme<br \/>\n\u2022 Physical exercise programme<br \/>\n\u2022 Colorectal cancer prevention campaign<br \/>\n\u2022 Prostate cancer prevention campaign<br \/>\n\u2022 Thyroid disease prevention campaign<br \/>\n\u2022 Sudden death prevention campaign<br \/>\n\u2022 Blood donation activities<br \/>\n\u2022 Bone marrow donation activities<br \/>\n\u2022 Informative and training talks<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15955\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15955\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/entrega-premio-a-AP-de-Bilbao1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15955 size-medium\" title=\"Receipt of the award\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/entrega-premio-a-AP-de-Bilbao1-305x203.jpg\" alt=\"Receipt of the award\" width=\"305\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15955\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Receipt of the award<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>38 projects from all over Spain were presented for these awards and the winners include companies such as Banco Santander, Orange, BMW Ib\u00e9rica, Galp Energ\u00eda, Basf espa\u00f1ola, the Adecco group and the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona (UAB).<\/p>\n<p>The Port Authority of Bilbao was the only company in the Basque Country to receive such an award, and on its behalf, Alberto Ojanguren, Manager of the Department for Prevention and Environment, and Joseba Gotzon Calvo Larrondo, the person responsible for the health promotion project, received the award.<\/p>\n<p>This award follows on from the recognition last July from Gosasun &#8211; an award promoted by Innobasque, the Basque Agency for Innovation, to encourage healthy practices in the workplace based on three main pillars- eating habits, physical activity, and emotional health.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ecSubir\"><\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div>\n <div class=\"hide-for-small page-options-container hide-for-print\"> <hr class=\"page-options\"\/> <ul class=\"inline right page-options\"><li><a class=\"bmprint\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"Print this article\"><i class=\"icon-print\"><\/i><\/a><\/li><li><a class=\"bmsend2friend\" href=\"mailto:?subject=Article of interest: Port Authority of Bilbao receives further recognition for promoting health in the workplace -
