This growth is due to a boost in liquid (+8%) and solid (+3%) bulks.<\/p>\n<p>Container traffic stood at 303,169 TEUs \u2013 a similar figure to that of the first half of last year.<\/p>\n<p>The European Atlantic is still the main traffic origin and destination, but little by little, transatlantic markets are catching up, with significant increases in the North American Atlantic (+6%) and especially the African Atlantic (+133%).<\/p>\n<p>Investment stood at 14.8 million euros in the first half of the year, and throughout 2015 the Port Authority of Bilbao will invest a total of 47 million.<\/p>\n<p>Among the projects the Port Authority carried out during this period, the following are the most important: the supply and\u00a0placing of spoil for future closed precincts on a new Port<br \/>\n<\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15598\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15598\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/80932.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15598 size-medium\" title=\"General view of the port\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/80932-305x203.jpg\" alt=\"General view of the port\" width=\"305\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15598\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">General view of the port<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>dock, a project to construct new interior rail accesses and service tracks\u00a0for the Pancorbo Rail Logistics Terminal, and the extension of the Punta Sollana Breakwater.
