{"id":15197,"date":"2015-03-25T13:40:37","date_gmt":"2015-03-25T11:40:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/?p=15197"},"modified":"2016-06-13T12:16:12","modified_gmt":"2016-06-13T10:16:12","slug":"work-on-the-arasur-logistics-platform-is-due-to-commence-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/news\/work-on-the-arasur-logistics-platform-is-due-to-commence-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Work on the Arasur Logistics Platform is due to commence this year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"show-for-small mobile-breadcrumbs\"><ul class=\"breadcrumbs\"><li class=\"home\"><span property=\"itemListElement\" typeof=\"ListItem\"><a property=\"item\" typeof=\"WebPage\" title=\"Go to Port of Bilbao.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/en\/\" class=\"home\" aria-current=\"page\"><span property=\"name\">Port of Bilbao<\/span><\/a><meta property=\"position\" content=\"1\"><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div><div class=\"one_half bbcol\">\n<p>Work is to begin this year on the Arasur logistics platform in Rivabellosa, \u00c1lava, to install a rail operations base for the Port of Bilbao, in accordance with an agreement signed by Ana Oregi from the Basque Government, Jos\u00e9 Zurita from the Provincial Council of Araba\/\u00c1lava and Asier Atutxa, President of Bilbao Port Authority.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15198\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15198\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Arasur-24-03-15-522.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15198 size-medium\" title=\"Visit to the ARASUR logistics platform\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/Arasur-24-03-15-522-305x202.jpg\" alt=\"Visit to the ARASUR logistics platform\" width=\"305\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15198\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Visit to the ARASUR logistics platform<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<p>Bilbao Port Authority will contract out and manage the work, which is expected to cost a total of eight million three hundred thousand euros according to the agreement. The Basque Government will cover just over 36 percent of the cost (\u20ac3 million). This will be matched by Bilbao Port Authority, while Araba\/\u00c1lava Provincial Council will provide the remaining \u20ac2.3 million.<\/p>\n<p>The work which is to go ahead on the platform will initially occupy around 35,000 square metres alongside the Ir\u00fan-Madrid tracks and involves expanding and improving operations at the Arasur logistics platform. This will be achieved by implementing a freight siding with a rail connection to the industrial estate and setting up the sidings so that they are consistent with the type and volume of freight handled by the Port of Bilbao.
