The vehicle will be used for accident scene intervention inside the Port of Bilbao\u2019s facilities and not for taking casualties to hospitals, which corresponds to the Emergency Health Transport Network.<\/p>\n<p>The new mobile medical care vehicle has cutting edge equipment to attend casualties including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Defibrillator monitor<\/li>\n<li>Spinal board<\/li>\n<li>Immobilisation material (Ferno kit, splints, surgical collars)<\/li>\n<li>Stretcher<\/li>\n<li>Secretion aspirator<\/li>\n<li>Lifebuoy<\/li>\n<li>Safety harnesses<\/li>\n<li>Life jackets<\/li>\n<li>Helmets<\/li>\n<li>Emergency bag<\/li>\n<li>Oxygen bottles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With regard to communications, the vehicle is equipped with a radio and a mobile phone for connection with Port Authority of Bilbao\u2019s Emergency Control Centre.<\/p>\n<p><\/div><div class=\"one_half column-last bbcol\"><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14243\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14243\" style=\"width: 305px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a class=\"thickbox\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Veh--culo-intervencion-r--pid2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-14243 size-medium\" title=\"New emergency vehicle\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bilbaoport.eus\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Veh--culo-intervencion-r--pid2-305x228.jpg\" alt=\"New emergency vehicle\" width=\"305\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14243\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">New emergency vehicle<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition, it has a petrol\/gas engine in order to comply with the contamination law minimums; a modern electric system adapted to feed the medical apparatus and necessary lighting and appropriate signals for this type of vehicle. It also has safety elements including better accessibility, better lighting for on-scene safety, better distribution of medical apparatus and materials, improved ergonomics, greater visibility of the vehicle and an increase in comfort, thus providing more medical warmth.<\/p>\n<p>According to the directors of the medical service, \u201cthe unit supposes a great qualitative advance in attending casualties, since as from now, among other things, we can isolate the victim and the medical attendant from possible hostile elements and adverse weather conditions.
